Production of Italian Knitwear
Let's introduce ourselves! Punto Maglia srl, owner of the online store puntomaglia.it, has been involved in Italian knitwear production for over 10 years.
We design and produce knitwear in Italy for women and men, in gauges from 3 to 14, primarily using high-quality natural fibers like extra fine pure merino wool, cashmere, silk, but also cotton and the innovative lanital.
We produce on average 35,000 garments per year and cater to private customers as well as retailers and wholesalers, both Italian and international. In our catalog, you'll find a wide range of knitwear items such as dresses, tops and sweaters, pullovers, cardigans, leggings, boleros, shrugs, jackets, coats, jackets, and capes.

We handle the entire production cycle: design, prototyping, and shipping of the finished product, which hits the market under two brands: "Leonardo" for men's knitwear and "Regina di Cuori" for women's knitwear.
The constant search for new fabrics, technologies, and production methods allows us to remain effective in the continuous improvement of comfort and fit of knitwear garments.
60% of the production work is carried out within the company itself, while for the remaining 40%, Punto Maglia collaborates with qualified and selected Italian artisanal workshops, in full compliance with law 166/09 to protect the 100% Made in Italy product.

Stages of Italian knitwear processing
- Knitting: the process of weaving yarn to create the panels that make up the finished garment. No scissor cuts are applied to achieve soft shaping. Any anomalies are manually checked.
- Linking: assembling the panels to form the garment. Punto Maglia's seams are specifically designed for each model to perfectly follow the body's shape without creating unsightly creases or fitting defects. The garments are entirely hand-finished.
- Fulling (knit washing): this process, in addition to giving the garment softness, is crucial as it prevents the knit from deforming, shrinking, or bleeding in subsequent washes.
